coast bites pilot • kale: king of greens

Here is our full pilot episode, just under 30 minutes in length. The pilot aired on Pacific Coast Television (PCT 26/27). We are currently working on a director’s cut that will be posted here soon…as well as individual video clips from the show so that you can easily get right to the content you most want to view. In the meantime, you can view the original pilot above.

In this episode, we attend Harvest to Table, an event coordinated by three local non-profit organizations. The star of the show is kale, the king of greens. We began at Pacifica Gardens, a gorgeous community garden bursting with organic produce. We learned about how kale grows and how incredibly nutritious it is compared to other foods.

We moved from the garden to the kitchen. Chef Hillary Bergh shared some wonderful kale recipes with us. Finally, we paid homage to our own kale king and the Food Revolution.

Recipes in this episode include a citrus dressing, a wonderful green citrus salad, and sauteed greens. There is also a related video clip available from the pilot episode, How to Zest a Lemon.  Click to view other Coast Bites video clips.
